The first half of this match went the way that the majority of the forum participators expected with CS scoring two tries in the first half hour; the first was after the visitors fumbled the ball in their own in goal area to which centre Ryan Martin won the foot race dived on for a 7 – 0 lead, and then three minutes later CS had an attacking line out from which second row Will Scott took an exquisitely clean catch and then ran through the visitors defence none of whom remotely looked like stopping him. 14 – 0. Just before the break Tunbridge Wells benefitted from a 5m scrum from which they scored. 14 – 7 was the half time score. In the second half Tunbridge Wells clearly relished the role of underdogs, and caught the Stags taking an afternoon nap, as well as losing three key players to injury. After just 4 minutes Tunbridge Wells ran straight through the CS half backs, one of whom was injured to score 14 – 14. After a further 10 minutes Tunbridge broke out of defence, and chipped the would-be CS tacklers and raced home to score 14 – 19. To compound the misery for the CS supports after a further five minutes Tunbridge ran the length of the field to score 14 - 24. CS despite losing their full back, scrum half, and influential second row Will Scott, had not given up. With five minutes left Liam Cleary at fly half kicked the ball long and wing James Houstoun was first to it and fielded it before feeding Ryan Martin just before the line 19 – 24. Another score could have earned a bonus point or two but instead CS conceded another try 19 – 31 was therefore the final score.
