Another successful double this week! As already recorded earlier on Facebook, the 1st XV travelled to Bracknell RFC on Saturday 18th January, and came away with a victory at the death! 19-12 down as the scoreboard clock hit 40 minutes at the end of the second half, the team showed fantastic spirit and perseverance to keep battling to the end. Two fantastic team drives downfield into opposition territory in added time, both resulting in converted tries, saw the Stags emerge 19-26 victors. I’m adding some more photos on Facebook and LinkedIn from the day for you to enjoy. Congratulations to Tayne Stannard at fly half on making his Stags 1st team debut, and also to winger Luke Trigg for attaining 50 first team appearances today. Today’s win with the 4 try bonus keeps CS Stags in 3rd place in the Regional 1, South Central league table.
The Staghounds 2nd XV were at home in Dukes Meadows, and won 62-17 against Belsize Park, once again running in several tries, resulting in yet another max bonus point win. This keeps them top of the pile in the London Counties & South Coast Premiership league table.
This coming week – Saturday 25th January 2025. No 1st XV fixture as it is a rest week for the Stags. However, the 2nd XV Staghounds have a rescheduled fixture (originally planned for 21st December 2024) away to Hammersmith & Fulham RFC, scheduled to kick off at Hurlingham Park, SW6 3RH, at 14.00 hours. Do come along and support our ‘table toppers’ if you can, and I’m sure they shall appreciate it. They have only lost once this season in a very tough league, and have a current points +/- of 354!
