It was with a heavy heart that we waved off Oliver Bryant at the end of the 25/26 season. Ol took the club to dizzying heights on the field. Overseeing the club's highest league finish in our 163-year history in 24/25 and the expansion of CS back to a 2 team club, with the Staghounds winning their league in the same season. Achievements testament to what a fantastic coach Ol is. A handy player in his day with 40 caps for the club, and a better bloke, we thank Ol for everything he did for the club and wish him, Georgie, Guinness, and baby Bryant all the best for their new life down south.

With the end of the Bryant era upon us, the club is absolutely delighted to announce the appointment of a new look coaching team. Led by Jerry Hedigan, a seasoned coach who joins us after a long stint at Grasshoppers RFC and more recently at St Mary's University. Jerry has had the guys working hard through pre-season and has made clear his desire for the club to play fast paced, exciting rugby. Maybe the Bryant era isn't going to be such a distant memory!

Supporting Jerry will be Hayden Hyde, who currently plays his rugby with Ealing Trailfinders, having signed for the Championship club in the off-season from Harlequins.

Matt Riddington, a two time varsity winner with Cambridge University and a former Leicester Tigers, Nottingham, Bishop Stortford, and Bury St Edmunds player.

Luke Povey, former coach at Harlequins Amateurs and current Middlesex under 20s coach. Luke will be taking the helm for the Staghounds as they take on Counties 1 for the first time.

Former Stags coach and current Oxford University coach Nigel Rosser returns to the club after 10 years as Director of Rugby. Nigel's years of experience, passion for the club, and desire to kick things on have been palpable in his first few weeks around.

We welcome Jerry, Hayden, Matt, and Luke to the club and are delighted to have Nigel back.

Pre-season game 1 under our belt and circa 1 month before Farnham and Wasps come to Dukes Meadow to get stuck into things for real. Exciting times at CS, as always, new players, social members, and sponsors are welcome!
